And to celebrate it:
Did you know that today is the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day? To celebrate, Daniel Craig has put on a wrap dress, heels, pearls and blonde wig for this public service announcement, which Dame Judy Dench—his James Bond co-star—narrates. “For someone who has such a fondness for women, I wonder if you’ve ever considered what it might be like to be one,” she says. “Women are responsible for two-thirds of the work done worldwide, yet earn only 10 percent of the total income and own just one percent of the property… So, are we equals?” Props to Daniel and Judy for making this ad, which brings up some very good and important points.
Happy Women’s Day everybody!
“Well you tell them that a woman is entitled to have a mood, any mood: a happy, mood a sad mood, an angry mood. She can have this mood whenever she likes and it has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not Aunt Flo is visiting. And one more thing, these people should be very happy that women get these visits from their Aunts because if they didn’t, there would be no uncles.”
