I usually avoid talking about religion with someone I’ve just met.
True dat. People suddenly get very defensive and religious when I say that I’m an atheist. As if it’s an invitation for them to preach to me.
Hah. I always quote Robert Langdon when asked about my views on religion: “Faith is a gift that I have yet to receive”. It’s just more polite than saying “No, I don’t believe in your one true god or any god for that matter”. I can say that after I’ve met them a few more times.
